Sweet & Fudgy

Due to its natural processing, this single origin espresso from Ethiopia has particularly complex aromas such as banana, ripe lychee, wild blueberry and anaerobic chocolate notes, which ensure a creamy mouthfeel and a fudge finish. It is a special coffee in every way!

About this coffee

The cherries are harvested and pre-sorted by hand. We are pleased to introduce you to this experimentally processed coffee from Gedeb. In this case, the coffee cherries are placed in 15-20 cm thick layers on plastic sheeting on drying beds and then rolled up in the sheeting, which starts the fermentation process. After fermentation, the cherries are dried on the drying beds until they have reached the optimum degree of drying of around 11-12%.

The washing station

Banko Gotiti is located at 1980m above sea level near Gedeb town in Gedeo Zone, south of Sidama and west of Guji. This area is located on a steep slope in the east of the Ethiopian highlands. Banko is known for its aromatic, intense and floral coffee. The Washingstation buys the coffee cherries from around 783 farmers, all of whom run small farms in the region. The farms have an average size of 2 hectares and are between 1950 and 2100m above sea level.
