Drawn from the portafilter and with a ratio of 1:2 (18gr coffee / 36gr espresso in 30-35sec) this espresso tastes of orange, chocolate and macadamia nut. These flavours are especially enhanced with milk (e.g. flat white or cappuccino) and our eyes & palates see a perfect basis for tasty mixed drinks with milk.

ESPRESSO SANDBANK

Chocolate, Orange, Macadamia Nut

The name “Blankenese” can be traced back historically to a sandbank, which was already well recognizable in the 16th century on traditional Elbe maps. This so-called “bare Nes” (white nose) was a particular obstacle for navigating the river Elbe at that time. However, a storm surge in the 17th century washed this sandbank away and it disappeared. In 1938, Blankenese was incorporated and became an official part of Hamburg.

It was important to us to bring this story back to life and to name one of our espressos just like that: Sandbank.
