Description

FILTER COFFEE GEISHA (Hacienda La Esmeralda)

Peach, Jasmine, Orange

During our origin trip to Panama & Costa Rica in March 2020, we also made a stop at the Finca Hacienda La Esmeralda to cup the fresh 2020 harvest for you or the geishas that were ready at the time (mid-March). We fell in love again with a washed geisha that, after being washed, spent a total of 3 days in a fermentation tank (“Yeast fermentation”) and then dried for another 8 days in the open air.We were lucky enough to secure this 91 points (!) Geisha for us!

The taste profile: peach, jasmine & orange

More information about this lot:

León 43 is part of the “Esmeralda Special Reserve”, an award-winning coffee collection launched 15 years ago. These lots are sold directly and exclusively in very small lots.

At Esmeralda Farm, only the ripest and reddest coffee cherries are handpicked. The careful care of picking the cherries as well as the further processing of the green coffee guarantees first-class quality in the cup, in which peach notes, jasmine, stone fruit and bergamot are found. It is an exceptional geisha which has optimal conditions to ripen due to the particularly nutrient-rich volcanic soil in Boquete and the special climatic situation between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Part of the revenue for this exceptional coffee flows into the infrastructure of the villages of the farm workers, primarily the pickers who have to do an extraordinary job. Your children will be provided with hot meals during the harvest, schools will be renovated and you will receive an annual profit share of at least 30%.
