Bright Joy

It is a particularly aromatic Geisha with a radiant character and a bright but pleasant acidity reminiscent of a bouquet of wild pink flowers and succulent kumquats. It has an exotic character with the classic delicacy and elegance of a geisha.

About this coffee

Direct trade for 3 years: On our Panama trip in March 2020 we visited the direct neighbor of the world famous Lamastus Elida Estate for the first time: the picturesque Finca Lérida. The farm and associated coffee plantations also benefit from the unique microclimate around the Boquete region. Here the geisha plants grow under the best conditions in all of Panama. The geisha coffee cherries are hand-picked only when they are dark red and at their sweetest. It can happen that a shrub is harvested up to 8 times. The coffee cherries are then processed anaerobically and slowly dried outdoors with constant turning. In this coffee you can taste the fantastic terroir that makes this coffee so special.

ORIGIN INFO

The Farm

The Finca Lérida was the first coffee plantation in Panama, which was founded in 1925 by a German and was the first farm in Panama to export coffee to Germany. We are very fortunate to have this direct relationship with the Amoruso family farm. Maria Amuroso grew up in Boquete as the eldest of 5 siblings and grew coffee plants with her grandpa when she was still a girl and helped him with the processing. She always dreamed of her own farm and when Finca Lerida came up for sale in 2009 she breathed life into this special place with one of the best locations for coffee growing. She planted Geisha plants and 5 years ago even the SL 34 variety from Kenya and won fourth place at the BOP.
